Serve is ok. The noodles are great and the milk tea is delicious. Not good for big groups. Children would be ok.

You cannot go wrong with this place. The chang fen being part of their namesake, it is good but nothing stand out. The congee is also pretty decent but nothing to write home about. The atmosphere is relatively quiet and this place is rarely crowded. We came back a second time and decided to get some sweets. We got an egg custard bun and some fried man tou. I'm not usually a sucker for sweets but these dishes are excellent. It's arguably better than any savory stuff that we ordered. In short, come here but try the egg custard and fried man tou. If you like the flavors that condensed milk carries, you will enjoy the foods specified here. Giving this 4 stars because the quantity of food isn't that high. However, it's worth a shot if you like dim sum.

I visited Yin Ji Chang Fen on Friday, 2/9/24, around 6:30 PM. I decided to place a takeout order over the phone. I ordered a total of eight Shui Mai dumplings. The dumplings were tasty and flavorful. The customer service was decent. The inside of the restaurant had a nice, cozy feel. I recommend checking this place out. I would return whenever I am in the area.

This really hit the craving for cheung fun, congee, and you tiao (fried breadstick). Street parking was plentiful on Saturday morning but pricey at $4/hour in the beautiful downtown Berkeley. It's pretty casual inside and clean. Wait staff are nice and service was quick. They were working through a lot of to-go orders, so it took maybe 10 min to start getting food on the table. The beef with raw egg was extremely good - the beef pieces were huge chunks but so tender. The fried breadstick was fresh and perfectly crispy and soft. Their signature cheung fun was perfect in the thickness of the skin, and I feel that the crunchy lettuce just goes so well and kind of highlights that it is fresh (you can't really freeze lettuce well I think). The BBQ pork buns were also excellent - great flavor. I also drank a honey lemon drink was warming and mellow. Can't wait to make the trip again for another relaxing breakfast/brunch here.
